Stabbing Pains On Top Of Head - Headaches & Migraines Message Board

This afternoon it started, I got a pain on the top, a little to the right side of my head. This was 6 hours ago and it comes on and off. I don't have a headache though, just sharp, stabbing pains that when they come are pretty bad. I don't mind the pain, but this is scaring me. I don't have other symptoms like light sensitivity or fever, or nausea, anything that would indicate a hemorrhage, stroke or something serious. I know I have felt this before but not all day. What could this be, and has anyone had this?

Hi,

Does the stabbing pain feel like lighting striking your head at all? How long does the pain last?

No, not like lightning, just sharp. The pain lasts for a few seconds only then wil stop for a half hour, sometimes more, sometimes less, then again. Now it's morning and I'll see what happens. Any clues?

Hi,

The pain I get it very sharp, like a stabbing pain, but the only way I can explain it is like lightening, does it bring you to tears? my last for a few seconds and comes and go's? sound like yours at all? My are extremely painful, I was told on the TMJ board it could be nerve damage, I have to still get it check out...

I have had this same problem for 7 months and now i have severe neck pain. Are you still having the problem?? Please let me know. Thanks
