Usually headaches are from caffeine withdrawal. If you are addicted to caffeine and the effects begin to wear off, it is possible that you will get a headache until you drink the next cup. People take caffeinated medications (Excedrin migraine, for example) for migraines because it tends to expand the blood vessels in the brain, thus increasing blood flow and temporarily relieving the headache.
It would be best to very slowly reduce your caffeine to prevent as many headaches. I myself have gotten down to 1 cup of coffee a day. When I get a headache, I just take tylenol or ibuprofen.
