Common side effects of Immetrex?... - Headaches & Migraines Message Board

Can some of you please give me a little insight to what your side effects are regarding Immetrex. My doctor prescribed it to me but i am scared to take it because of possible side effects that it may cause. Also, how about Excedrin Migraine.?....

The most common side effect of imitrix is your chest tightening. This feeling will go away after an hour or two at most. And you will either have this feeling the first time you use it or you wont. You will know right away if you are going to have this side effect or not. Most people do not. I have side effects and am real sensative to almost all meds. However, Imitrix doesn't bother me. Thank God! I get cluster headaches and migraines and rely on Imitrix several times a day to get through. Good luck. You will like how imitix gets rid of the nasty headache so fast and kills all the ha effects nausea, light and sound sensativity etc. It is a good medicine.

Just wondering, it the chest tightening freaky? Can you breath? How does it feel? Do you get wooozy on imitrex? should i take it if i know that i can go to sleep?
Has anyone tried Excedrin Migraine?

Excedrin Migraine is (and a lot of people don't know this) simple Ibrophen! It says it right on the label. Its exactly the same thing - so if Motrin doesn't help your migraines, neither will Excedrin Migraine. I believe its a lot more expensive too. What a rip off. If people would just read labels more often. . . I've also wondered about Maxalt, which is also a migraine medication my doctor prescribed. I am also afraid to take it for fear I'll get the chest tightening side effect, and I will feel like I can't breathe. That would FREAK ME OUT. So, I'm also asking - does it feel at all like you can't breathe?

Hi! I have been taking Imitrex in the nasal spray form for almost a year now. It is the most wonderful drug ever invented!! i was scared too at first, after reading about all of the possible side effects. My doctor assured me that those drug companies have to include everything that MAY happen to anyone, in order to cover their asses from lawsuits. He told me that most people only report a "weird" feeling. He said they are not really able to describe it, just that it's weird. So, I tried it with the very next headache I had. I did feel "weird", and he was right, I couldn't really describe it. My chest never felt tight, although my jaw did feel tight. Not painful though, just tense. The weird feeling went away after about 15 minutes, and my headache was gone 5 minutes after that. My headaches used to last for weeks at a time, sometimes so bad I couldn't even talk. So I will be more than glad to put up with the weird feeling for a few minutes!! Don't worry too much about the side effects. I will never be without this medicine again!!
