Headaches While Trying To Fall Asleep

Hello Everyone,
I'm a 15 year old girl and recently while trying to fall alsleep I get a rather severe headache right above my eyes.

I really don't know how else to describe it, it seems that nearly immediatly, once I close my eyes, the headache occurs.

Can anyone shed some light onto what may be causing this and how to fix it? It's really messing with the amount of sleep I get.

Re: Headaches While Trying To Fall Asleep

I wonder if it is a sinus headache. When you are laying down, the pressure changes, and with the night air being more moist and colder, it might be. Try clearing out your sinuses and propping yourself up with more than one pillow. Has there been a lot of rain near you lately? Also, if the window is open and the air is cold, try closing it. Allergies (including food reactions) and hayfever can cause sinus issues, so think about if you might be eating something that might be triggering the headaches or if there is something else that could be causing a problem. Talk with your parents so that they can work with you and share their thoughts, too. They may have had the same kind of headache before and might have found some things that work to help.

I am also thinking sinus headache. Mine always got worse when I was lying down. Clearing your sinuses with a sinus rinse and staying hydrated will help. I agree that talking to your folks is a good idea, they may have experience that can help. Or maybe a trip to the doctor is warranted if they feel it is necessary.
