How can you tell it's a Rebound Headache?

How can you really tell if your getting Rebound Headache's?
Is it a headache that doesn't go away no matter what you take?

I take Fiornal almost weekly for Miagraines and haven't found anything that works better.
Sometimes I only get the Aura - take 1/2 a pill & never get the pain.
Sometimes Sinus (forehead) or Tension (back of head).......But, the Fiornal always takes away the pain...sometimes for a few days to a week - sometimes for 10 hours.

Unhappy Re: How can you tell it's a Rebound Headache?

I have a headache every day! and certainly wish I did not. I take Panadeine Forte every day from 2-4 tablets. I would love not to take them but I have tried panadoll and panadeine and you name it I have probably tried it but I have a lot of disc problems in my neck so most probably one of the main causes. Panadeine ae notorious for causing constipation which certainly does not help either but I am lucky a few walnuts every day helps there. I think the walnuts are a miracle.
I think I am having rebound headaches but what can I do? As I have said you name something and I probably have tried it from acupunctue to meditation and every tablet inbetween.
Oh well,
Locket

It's quite possible the daily use of your rescue medication is causing your headache.
In addition to that by using 2 - 4 tablets everyday your body will develop a tolerance to that drug which will make it less effective when you have a full blown migraine attack.

I take preventive medication, then when I get one I take take my onset medication. Preventive medication is for daily use. Another thing I did and am doing is I do a journal...anything and everything I ate, drank and activities I did that day that I got a migraine. I've so far discovered pollen, too much soda pop, too much stress, my neck being out of line (it likes to dislocate), chocolate, and some fruits are triggers (what starts the initial migraine). Perhaps making an appointment with your doctor is in order to get a better handle on things.

You cant, but if the headache is occuring daily, almost continualy, consider it.

Try Aleave (Naproxen), 2 tabs with water.... this is unlikely to lead to rebound headache
