Recently, in the last few weeks, everytime my husband and I have sex [and even when I'm on my own with it] I will get a sudden sharp pain on the left side of my head. It doesnt radiate, and hurts so much we/I have to stop. It isnt related to orgasm as it's happened prior to it. I have no other typical migraine symptoms such as feeling dizzy or sick, only the pain. It only happens during this time although I do seem to have frequent dull headaches but these are all over kind of pain. I do take 3 advil when these attacks come on and within an hour or so the pain lessens but doesnt go away. I thought perhaps it was my blood pressure so I actually kept my bp monitor right with me and checked it when the pain came on but it was 121/69 so that isnt it. It's the strangest thing and I feel maybe my hubby thinks I'm faking it to get out of intimacy but thats sooo far from the truth. I'm not sure what kind of doctor to see about this. My regular dr is a 65 yr old man and I dont feel comfortable discussing this with him. Do you think my gyn would be able to help? Has anyone heard of this and if so is there anything I can do?
