neverending headache - Headaches & Migraines Message Board

I have had a headache for nearly three weeks and I am at my wits end about how to get rid of it. I suffer from migranes for 20+ years and I take Zomig for them but this time it is not working I have taken at least 10 along with more extra strenght tylnol than I care to. ( I am all so currently, dealing with an unbalanced immune system.) I am living in the dark and I have even had my Mother take care of my son. I went to the doctor and she just dimissed it completely she told me to get more sleep. I really need some relief soon it hurts just to move my head around. Could someone please help me get rid of the pain.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have some sort of genetic migraines that strikes once a year seven days in row. none of the migraine medications have any affect on me... so I've made my own homemade painkiller

1-boil some water
2- add black pepper powder (or other pepper producs) to the water.
3- add some white sugar
4- mix eerything

if you have the right amound of pepper, the water will turn yellow.

now filter out the extra pepper and drink the water.

this helps me alot. hope this helps you too

Try taking two Aleave twice a day for a few days, to break the cycle.

Ask your doctor about using a preventative medication such as propanolol or amitriptyline.

Cindy, sorry you are suffering. It is really sad when doctors don't recognize migraine and what it is. Statuous migranious is not anything to play with. I have been on IV therapy for several days now because of a migraine that would not go away. I work very closely with my nerologist and thankfully I found a good nero who will help me out to break a bad cycle when needed. I think my migraine is getting better, I woke up this morning feeling better.

As for getting rid of the pain, what are you taking now? You said your doctor won't help you. Do you have a walk in clinic, ER, another doctor? Afer 3 weeks of pain I highly doubt any otc treatment will work for you. Just my opinions. Best of luck to you.

hi cindy am new on here.have had migraines since i was ten,i am now 37,two years ago i had a stroke.the doctors told me it was a migraine and sent me home unable to speak.they told me after a ct scan that i had a brain tumour or had a stroke.i had to wait two weeks to find out which it was.i.d had a stroke.am now on warferin for life.I found no meds helped the pain.Now i take valium to sedate myself.they last for up to seven days a month.I believe they are hormonal related.the docs don,t want to knoe.A&E gave me morphine that did help.
