Headaches everyday..

For the past 3 years, I have had really bad headaches almost every single day. It began when I was 17, and I had recently started college. I endured several very stressful situations, which I believe to be the originating cause of my headaches. At first I only got them 1-2 days a week, but after a few months it jumped to 3-5 days a week, and finally I started getting headaches every day. I started out taking Tylenol and ibprofen, but eventually, the only thing that worked for me was Excedrin Migraine. So after about a year, I went to the doctor. He said taking Excedrin Migraine everyday was fine, and whenever I got away from all the stress, the headaches would eventually go away.. Well that didn't happen.. Eventually I got to where I was taking Excedrin 2 or 3 times a day, and the caffine and the asprin in the medication were killing me.. I developed acid reflux, and I returned once more to this doctor.. I told him what was going on, and he prescribed me PRESCRIPTION STRENGTH Excedrin Migraine! So needless to say, I went to another doctor the same week. This doctor did a CT scan, and he also determined the cause was stress.. He prescribed me a muscle relaxer, a low dosage antidepressant, a pain reliever of some sort (nonnarcotic and which also made me very sleepy) and prevacid for the acid reflux. So there I was, a walking zombie. Sure I didn't have headaches, but I also couldn't perform any of my daily functions. So I quit taking the medication, and my headaches returned immediately. I have went to several doctors since then and I have been prescribed several pain relievers some narcotic and some nonnarcotic. They either did not work at all or they make me feel out of it. Last year I was prescribed Adipex to help me lose weight. The whole time I was on the medication, I didn't have a single headache. I was prescribed it again this year, and once again I had no headaches. I only weight 112lbs, and I still get headaches every day. I have not had a stressful situation in over 6 months. I have went to a massage therapist several times in the past year because my headaches seem to originate in the lower back part of my neck and go all the way up into the back of my skull and the back of the top of my head. I don't know what to do, and since I have no form of medication available to me that will help, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on ways to make them stop..

How long did you take the meds? Usually after a couple of weeks the side effects diminish. I probably would have backed off on the muscle relaxer to just bed time.

How old are you now? have you seen a endocrinologist? have a full blood workup? I know Adipex can make some people jittery.. almost like speed. Did you mention this to your docs when you were on it, you had no headaches? It can be an important clue. Keeping a food & headache journal can be another important tool to help you and your doctor

Re: Headaches everyday..

I took them for about 3 weeks, and after the first two days I did start taking the muscle relaxer right before I went to sleep..
