| Re: headaches when lying down
Hi Janet, while grinding your teeth could cause it, there might be other reasons also. I get terrible headaches from 2 bulging disc in my neck. I was definitely waking up in the night with them and whenever I lay down it hurts, sometimes I still wake up with them. Fast forward, I am going to Pain Management, I get epidurals for my neck and in between the epidurals, I get trigger point injections, all of that has really helped my headaches, I hardly get them at all anymore. But, like today and yesterday, as soon as I wake in the morning, I cannot linger in bed as I have that headache, it is puzzling to me, as it does not hurt my neck, but it is like a vice grip around my head. Once I am up, it takes about an hour and they are gone, I don't take anything for these morning headaches, they just go away. I do take flexeril at bedtime to keep the muscle spasms at bay. Ask your doc if you can have an MRI, that is the only way you find out if there is something wrong. Take care...
