On January 1st of this year my wife went to bed with a headache. Problem is we did not go out and celebrate the New Year we stayed home and watched T.V. The next day she still had the headache. To summarize what has been done she has taken over-the-counter migraine medicine, Percacet, and Vicodins for pain. In addition, she’s had three nerve blocks to the back of her head, she’s had numerous injections of toradol, fenagrin, DHE, and has been to the ER numerous times. My wife has undergone MRIs, MRA, and MRVs of the head and neck but they cannot find the cause of her pain. They said she had a “thunderclap headache” with a migraine that has gone awry. She also had a lumbar puncture and a CT scan. In addition, she was hospitalized for six days for her migraine. She got no relief with the IV DHE that she was given. She’s also tried three separate stints with steroids, was on 750 mg of Depakote for three weeks, and it now up to 200mg of Topamax daily. She still takes over the counter pain meds and her DHE shots as needs. She’s gone to the chiropractor numerous times, she’s seen an acupuncturist, and an eye doctor with no luck. In February my wife’s neurologist sent her to a pain management specialist who is an expert in migraine headaches. As of today her symptoms are still the same. Looking for some kind of an answer.
