Hi, I've had a headache for almost 19 months and I just need people who understand and know what I'm going through to help me keep pushing.
Let me give some background:
I have had a headache, a single headache, for almost 19 months now.
I wake up with it, go to school with it, play sports with it, fall asleep with it, I do EVERYTHING with it. It never goes away.
I can get headaches or migraines on top of the headache.
It can get worse with stress or the weather, but it's normally random when it gets worse.
On a scale of 1-10, my constant level is a 6, everyday.
I have been through multiple meds, physical therapy, accupuncture, diets, nerve blocks, and therapy to try to ease this constant push-none of which have worked.
My friends have pretty much given up on me, they stopped caring. My parents care, but they don't understand. It's the same way with my boyfriend. I only know one other person who has a similar problem as me.
Please do your best to care and comfort me and I can do the same with you if needed.
I take garlic, Ibroprophen, dark chocolate, mutivitamins, robaxin 750mg and I still do physical therapy because physical therapy did cause me to feel good when I did each exercise for at lest a minute and it felt like the muscles were being move into a normal position after several work outs and I have been using a ten pound weight at home and my headaches are a lot less frequent than they were.

Have you been checked for Hpoglycemia (low blood suger) I had it for years and the doctors told me headaches were caused from stress. I now eat every 3 hrs and stay away from suger.

I understand your pain. I have had a constant headache for 13 months now. Went to drs neurologists, had cat scan, mri, blood tests nothing found. Even tried going to a chiropractor. helped a little but still have headache. I sympathize with you because no one knows how much you deal everyday with it. You get so used to it you don't even remember what it felt like not to have it. I found relief when I went to a warmer climate. The dominican republic not sure why. May the moisture in the air. I started doing research myself maybe it is mold in your home? I may talk to my dr about that since I have run out of reasons. I will keep in corespondence with you maybe we can help each other. I am 40 years old and never had headaches so I am at wits end with this.
it's nice to finally talk to someone who understands. ive had all that done too and nothing. my mom wants me to go to a chiropractor but im just not comfortable with it. i have to get nerve blocks done all over again because they switched my doctor without telling us, so i have to do it again with the doctor i was supposed to have. just more waste of time. my mom was thinking botox next? she does a lot of research herself too.
I am currently dealing with the same thing, I have a dull headache 24x7 for almost a year now. It gets better or worse at different times in the day. The thing that helps me most is a combination of massage and chiropractic, however it seems that diet has an impact as well. Sometimes I eat and it gets worse, sometime I eat and it gets better. If I skip meals then eat it's way worse. I don't eat refined sugar and don't have much sugar otherwise. I actually sold a very sucessful business because I thought the stress was causing it. Now I have been "retired" for 2 months and no real change, I get weekly massages and chiropractic treatments just for a bit of relief. My nutritionist thinks it may be what he calls Allergy Overload, where a combination of allergies, mild or major, start effecting overall well being. He uses a special accupresure technique to eliminate adverse reactions allergens, so far no luck, but we have just started and I am apparently mildy allergic to just about everything so there is a lot more to eliminate. I am not going to give up though, I will find the answer.
My overall strategy:
1. keep stress to a minimum
2. get more exercise
3. Eat smaller meals more often, and higher protien meals
4. Avoid sugar and processed foods
5. Chiropractic and massage regularly to eliminate structural causes
6. Keep trying different health practioners and methods until I find what works.
I recommend you start paying attention to everything you do, what you eat and when, the position you sleep in, products you use, etc and try and pay attention to what makes it better and what makes it worse, eventually you should see a patern that will give you ideas on how to make it better or at least things to avoid that make it worse. I have quite a list of things I now avoid.
I don't believe anyone should have to live with headaches and just have to numb the pain with drugs. The headache is your body telling you something is wrong, that it's out of balance. It just a matter of figuring out how to give the body what it wants.
hi im a 28yr old female i was the exact same as you up till a few months ago i discovered it was my sinisus i started treating it and got relief straight away hope this helps ps try rubbing a small bit of tiger balm on your fore head
I can sympathize. It sucks! I'm on 15 mos now of nearly constant migraines. Some days are better that others.
I'm a bit older than you but I wanted to tell you that mine are and have always been hormonal. Are you by any chance on Birth Control? Just want to cover all the bases....they are notorious for causing headaches/migraines.
I am actually on birth control, but I have had the headache longer than I have been on birth control. I went on birth control to try to ease the headache in case it was hormonal, but I have had no luck.
I have had allergy testing, both blood and skin and everything came back normal.
I have been to an ENT for my sinuses and once again, everything was normal.
I have had multiple MRIs and CAT Scans, and can you guess? Everything was...normal!
I have been on a special diet with no luck.
Accupuncture was horrible and yet again, didn't do anything.
I am currently trying nerve blocks surrounding my head. I have had shots in the back of my neck and around my eyebrows. I am going back today for a consultation with a new pain specialist to more than likely do them all over again.
hi have you ever tried the pain killer solpadol i was on it before and it worked i got it from my doc or have you been to an optician it could be your sight
ive never even heard of that pain killer. and yes, they say its not my sight.
Update: So as everyone knows I went to the pain specialist yesterday. He decided to give me a nerve block in the back of my neck, a repeat. The only difference is I had the head of the office do it compared to the doctor I had the first time. I learned the first time the doctor completely missed the nerve. This time, he hit both nerves or close to them and it hurt like HELL. That had to be the worst pain I have felt in a long time, and remember, I have a headache everyday. I'm still very sore today. Oh, and it didn't work. I actually got numb this time, unlike the first time, but it had no effect on the headache. This means no more injections.
I'm so sick of doctors and pills and injections and having to retell every doctor the story of the past pretty much 2 years and having them still not understand. It's 1 headache. I have this 1 headache everyday. This 1 headache never goes away. I do EVERYTHING with this 1 headache. How much clearer can I make that it doesn't go away? 19 months of constant pain and more to come at this rate.
I have had headaches for years. I have been fortunate because I was able to figure out 2 things that caused my daily headaches. The major thing for me was Aspartame (nutrasweet). I would chew a piece of sugarless gum at the end of every day of work. By the time I got home, I would have a huge headache. Because my job was computer related, everybody thought it was eye strain. After searching on the internet, I found out about aspartame. I stopped the sugarless gum and my daily headaches went away. It only takes one slice of sugarless gum to give me a migraine. One day I bought a soda. I had a huge migraine later that day. I pulled out the soda bottle and discovered I bought diet by mistake. My other trigger is hormonal. I am now on Yaz birth control, taking an active pill everyday. After the 4 months (terrible months) of getting my body adjusted to the Yaz, I was headache free. BTW, I have had no problems with YAZ as seen in the TV lawsuit commercials about Yaz. Now, I again, am suffering from headaches. This time it's seems to be different. Pain in the base of my head/neck that moves forward. Waking up with headaches. Very frequent headaches, almost daily. I have been thru some stessful events in my life and handle stress very well. I am not going thru anything too stressful at the moment. I had a brain MRI yesterday. I am waiting for the results.
Do you eat/drink anything with aspartame (Nutrasweet)? If so, please stop and see if it helps. It's worth a try.
I don't think that anyone knows every cause of a depressed skull fracture
so you should carefully examine yourself it could be an early childhood
concussion.
