| Headaches and thyroid
I have often suffered from headaches and can pinpoint when these began, about 33 years ago in a small town in NSW. My younger son was about two months old. That was because many years a doctor reduced my thyroxine from 300mcg overnight to 100 mcg. I ballooned and one of our local doctors took me back up to 300mcgs and dropped it slowly over a series of months to 100. He was a legend because he listened, he knew me and my activity level with three young children and could not believe how I had put on so much weight and seemed zombie-like. Why did the specialist reduce it? Because the tests indicated that I might be takinbg a little bit more thyroxine than the drs thought I should. They also didn't think I'd need that much seeing I had delivered. Why don't they ever listen to how the patient feels on a particular dose. A drop of 300mcg to 100 is almost criminal. I wrote and complained but they all stick up for each other.Thank God for the Doctor who stood by me. He saved my sanity and my life.
