Re: headache in back of head on right side
I get headaches very similar to yours, only it happens with both sides... sometimes one worse than the other. Usually my right side is the one that bothers me, but lately my left side has been acting up more. This has been a struggle going on for about a year now and I haven't had any luck with the doctors I've seen. Things seem pretty normal to them. My primary doctor was the most helpful since she noticed a lot of muscle spasms and had my try muscle relaxers (did not help) and Xanax, which I already take in a low dosage occasionally for anxiety (and this actually sometimes helps, even though I'm not at all anxious when it happens). Have you ever read about trigger points in the back of your head/neck area? If not, definitely look them up and see if any of the symptoms agree with what you are feeling. The tricky part is, trigger points can be caused by an underlying problem. One specialist said I may have cervical disc issues. I'm actually going to see a chiropractor for upper cervical adjustments. I know not everyone likes chiropractors or feels comfortable with them, but the one I talked to follows a very conservative approach and had explanations for my symptoms. I'll definitely have to post back later on if it helps.
In the meantime, I highly suggest trying your best to practice good posture while sitting and try to lay down a little each day to rest of your head. Problems like this often happen from working on a computer often, which I do during work. I also try to stretch and move around more often, which helps me feel decent during the day. I hope you feel better soon!
