New here had a question...

I have been getting Migraines for the last 23 years ever sense I was 5. They are horrible I get what is Complex migraines and My neurologist has me on baby aspirin to prevent stroke. I get stroke symptoms when I get these really really bad migraines. We have not been able to find any medication that helps with my migraines however I do know what triggers them so I try to avoid those foods and smells as much as I can.
The question I had was I had what they call a silent migraine I was admitted into the hospital over night and had a bunch of tests/scans done to make sure that I wasn't having a stroke because I had all the symptoms of a stroke. What my question is has anyone else ever had a migraine like this? My head never hurt at all ever I just lost function of my left side of my body with confusion and slurred speech and numbness with not being able to feel/hold anything in my hand on the left side to not being able to feel anything as well in my left leg and they where both weak.

Re: New here had a question...

Yes I have had these symptoms. At one time I was diagnosised with seizures due to these symptoms. I have slurred speech, loss of vision, inability to communicate or move and finally when they get real bad I have seizure type twitching and other symptoms. It has all been diagnosised as part of the migraine.

I use Keppra, a seizure medication to help with the migraines. It does not remove all of the symptoms but it helps alot.

Good luck, migraines are enough to make you think you are crazy sometimes.
