If your headaches are truly migraines, I hope you have had an MRA to rule out an arterio-venous malformation, a cluster of abnormal blood vessels. It is unlikely that you have had the cervical nerve root compression for that long, but an AV malformation is congenital and may not produce symptoms until adulthood. An MRA is like an MRI with contrast injection to better show the cerebral blood vessels. They probably weren't even developed yet when you had your work-up years ago. I would recommend seeing a neurologist for this.
