Constant migraine for 25 years

I have had a constant migraine for 25yrs varying in intensity. Did the rounds of the specialists years ago and got nowhere. No medication has worked. I'm sure it's to do with my neck.
A CT scan of the neck has showen a compressed nerve at C5-6 level. Am seeing a neurosurgeon next week.
Will let you know if I get anywhere all you daily migraine and headache sufferers as I symphathise greatly with you.

Re: Constant migraine for 25 years

If your headaches are truly migraines, I hope you have had an MRA to rule out an arterio-venous malformation, a cluster of abnormal blood vessels. It is unlikely that you have had the cervical nerve root compression for that long, but an AV malformation is congenital and may not produce symptoms until adulthood. An MRA is like an MRI with contrast injection to better show the cerebral blood vessels. They probably weren't even developed yet when you had your work-up years ago. I would recommend seeing a neurologist for this.

Dear Ladybud, Sorry not to get back to you before this. Have never heard of an MRA but will follow that up. Thank you very much for your advice.
All good wishes,
