| | Botox vs. Radiofrequency ablation of the greater occipital nerve
Hi, I'm a 21 year old woman dealing with chronic migraines from an injury. I've had so many treatments and am currently on a plethora of medications. They help me have times where I'm not in pain, but I still get terrible migraines. I see doctors at the Thomas Jefferson Headache Center, and they've treated me with Botox. They want to give me another dose, but I'm not sure it really helped. Meanwhile, I had to have a nerve block from my pain doctor (I'm away at school). Because the nerve blocks have helped, my pain doctor wants to do a radio frequency ablation of the greater occipital nerve. I'm a little nervous, because it is more invasive than Botox. Has anyone had experience with these? Thank you!
