Hello all, still waiting for decision from oha. Hearing was in June. Checked the status recently, I was told it is in the editing phase. I was wondering if any one can tell me the meaning and mabey a guesstimate on the timeframe from the editing to the mailing. Thanks to all answers.
hello this is in response to the editing phase well back in december i saw the ALJ and i waited two months in feb i then decided to call the ssi office to see what was going on with my case they also told me that my case was in the editing phase so i called my lawyer and also they didnt recieve a decision also so just yesterday i called again by now its been 4 months and when i called the ssi office they come to tell me that my case was denied back on jan. 27 this is all to confusing to me my attorney nor i never recieved any letter from ssi office so this whole time ive been waiting for nothing but this doesnt make any sense to me i just dont no what to do now thanks for your time
I wonder why your attorney did not followup with the SSA? Are they now telling you that you can't appeal? How could you tho since you were never notified about the denial. I would be upset over the denial but really angry about not being notified.
If they've only told her by phone, then the clock to appeal hasn't started I wouldn't imagine. I believe she must receive the official denial on paper with the full explanation - as does her atty/representative before she appeals the decision or determines her next move.
well i contacted my attorney a couple of months ago in feb and he also did not here from s the ssi office so i waited until a couple of days ago an advocate from queen of the valley the hospital and emergency ive been admitted to on and off for years well hes helped me with my case as much as he could called me and asked why didnt i appeal my case and i told him cause i never recieved anything from the ssi office or my attorney we both werent awear of the decision so hes the one that told me that my case was denied so thats when i contacted my attorney and he didnt even no or recieve anything himself so now he says that we are going to appeal it but if they dont except it then we would have to reapply its all bs excuse my language if you ask me but its very hard for me right now financially i just dont no what to do

I am sorry that you have to go through all of this. what are you filing as your disability? how long has it been since you put in your original application? if it works better for you I would talk to your attorney about re applying vs appeal, from what I read that might just be a little quicker for you.
good luck to you and keep us posted on your status.
