Uninsured by Choice (Self Insured)

The medical insurance community has a term for those who have chosen to forego mecidal coverage by choice due to the high cost of coverage and choose to self insure.

What is the term?

Self-pay?

I think that's what it is, but I'm not 100% sure.

Re: Uninsured by Choice (Self Insured)

If someone forgoes insurance because they cant' afford it, it's not really by choice.

If someone forgoes health insurance, but can afford it, that's called moronic.
