go to your local hospital and talk to the social worker . most hospitals have a program that will pay for 6 months of your dental, hospital, surgury, meds. there is usally a doctor in each field that accepts. the only requirements that i know of is you need to be low income and really need it. my city requires you to be on foodstamps to quaifly. and have a pre-exsisting medical problem. that needs taken care of.....

What is this "insurance" called? I am a low income, single working mother with a pre-existing condition that DESPERATELY needs to be taken care of and EVERYWHERE I go, they dismiss me. I've tried applying for medicaid and the only medicaid that I'm eligible for is the one with shared costs and I can't afford that. I make too much money to qualify for the regular medicaid and if I don't have this pre-existing condition taken care of soon, I'll have full blown cancer.

Please don't forget to check with your local planned parenthood or any other women's resource clinic in your area....even if your pre-existing condition isn't gyn related. They normally work on sliding scales or provide care at no cost. Even if they can't treat you there is usually someone willing to beat the bushes and find someone who can. It never hurts to ask!!!

The hospital I work at has an office that accepts applications for a reduced-liability plan or a zero-liability plan. The first thing they do is have the patient apply for medicaid, and then they go from there and if the patient qualifies, either part or all of their bills are paid through a charity fund. I am sure there are many hospitals around the country with the same services. No one should go without medical treatment, and there IS help out there. Call around at different hospitals and ask. I hope this message helps somebody.
