Post I'm so lost with all this!

Hello, I'm so lost of what to do.
My husband has to pick a Health INS plan for next year by the end of this month.
The one we have now is really the best plan but the only thing is we have to pick the Doctors from the list. We had this INS for about 6-7 years and I never had to go through problems but from last year, some of the Dr's I like, doesn't take my INS anymore so it's like I have to go through looking for the " right one " again!
So do I stick with this and find a new dr again or go with another plan where I have to pay a deductable and go to the Dr I like and the Hospital by my house?
I know $ and plan wise I should stick to the one I Have but I'm so sick of looking for new Dr and have to go to the Hospital not by my house. I had my Daughter at a hospital by my house and it's 5 min away. Now I have to go to another one which I'm not too crazy about since it's little far.
IT's all about the $ and it's crazy!
Dose anyone have the same issues?
Thanks for reading.

Hi,

I think it's awful what insurance companies have done to consumers. It's not fair to make you pick a doctor you don't even know just because he/she is on some list. The people that make those decisions have no clue how precious the doctor patient relationship really is.

How much would your deductible be and co-payment or percentage be if you would go to a doctor or hospital you like and is not on the plan? I think it depends upon how much you are willing to pay.

Honestly, I'd have concerns about going to a hospital that is not on the plan because hospital costs can be so terribly high. However, I know that doctor's aren't cheap either.

I've gone through the same thing. I think the insurance has you between a rock and a hard place. If you really wish to save money you'd have to choose another physician and hospital that is on the plan.

Not sure I've been much help though.

Sue

Thank u for the reply.
The Deductable is $350 EACH.. and after that it covers 80%. between my husband, myself and my Daughter I'm pretty much the one who uses the INS lot. So for them have to pay a deductable is really sucks!
So after thinking about it I'm going with the plan I alerady have. it's called Qual choice. this one has no deductable and it covers everything.
I just have to sick to the Dr's on the list. I'll find a new Obgyn.
I only would have to pay for the Co pay for the Dr's Visit.
Thank u again : )

Re: I'm so lost with all this!

Have you asked your Dr's if they'd consider becoming a network provider with one of the new plans available that is cheaper in premium to you? Most physicians and dentists will do that to retain a patient, if you're relationship is good, because ultimately they may gain more in the long run. If the network schedule is not outrageous or your Dr isn't overpriced, they will probably accommodate you. Most Dr's join almost any network because in most cases, its advantageous to them. Good luck!

Thank u so much for the reply.
My husband found and picked a INS end of Oct. I found out the Dr who I want to go applied for that iNS too so I will find out in Jan if he takes it or not.
But over all I can go to most of my Dr so I'm happy.
Thanks again for the reply
