Question Medical and dental bills and medication help?

Let me first start out by saying I have good health and dental coverage, But I did use up my dentist premium (I needed crowns done and root canal) I now have a dental bill I am responsible for in the amount of $900. That is after the $1000 premium. I also have some hospital bills added up.
I have bcbs and also the safety net plan through our local hospital. The bcbs covers most of the bill except the copay $100 for an ER visit. Here is where it is strange I had bcbs for some time now and the copay used to get picked up by the safety net plan but now it is not.
Also I got a hospital bill for $250 copay for a video capsule endoscopy,Mind you I walked in, got a harness put on me,swallowed a pill, then came back quite a few hours later to return the harness. There was no cutting or surgery involved. I did not know there was a copay for this until I received the bill. I thought it was covered under a medical test where there is no copay. I had the video capsule because My GI dr has already done a colonoscopy (was normal),Upper GI (Barretts Esophagus),and a few other tests to help figure out what is going on with my body.
I am 28 years old I have had Bad abdominal pain and diarrhea since I was about 8 years old off and on alot.
Because of the Barretts I have to have an Upper GI every 2 years to make sure I have not developed esophageal cancer or anything. That is another $250 copay for the day surgery center.
I am also looking for help getting my daughters ADHD prescription because her copay for it is $50 a month, I would consider the mail away but I don't have the money up front. We are a low income family of 4. I have looked into
assistance biut they usually require you to be either unemployed,Uninsured, disabled or elderly and the chronic conditions adhd is not one, she is 9 yrs old. Is there any help out there?
Some bills needing help:
ER- $100
Dentist- $900
video capsule- $250
Daughters copay rx- $50/mo.
me and husbands rx- $35-$50/mo.

Also OTC omeprazole-$ 25/mo.

Thank you to anyone who can help us find help.

Re: Medical and dental bills and medication help?

The co-pays and co-insurance are dictated by the plan you have. Get a copy of the exact plan under which you are covered and it should lay out for you what your maximum out of pocket expenses will be for any plan year. Once you reach that then all you have is co-pays. Often prescriptions are separate from medical coverage (I have medical under UHC but prescriptions under Medco).
