Short Term taking too long to process claim - Health Insurance Issues Message Board

I had a SEVERE upper ankle sprain 08/02/09. Cannot get MetLife to give me straight information on exactly what else they need too process the claim. I've pd short term premiums for 10yrs! Today is 09/11/09 and I have not recieved any $! Dont know what else to do!! I've never been late on anything OR missed a payment...nothing and now I'm getting ready too loose control of budget!!!!! Any suggestions? Thank you...

Get a copy of the itemized bill. Fill out claim form (again I suppose) and send again certified with a cover letter in bold red, second request...

Whatever you do, document everything! Every piece of paper you've sent them, everyone you've talked to on the telephone, everything that they'd told to do as next steps and your follow-up. Make sure you have notes on everything your doctor has done, and also everything your doctor's office may have sent into them.

Keep track of all of your paperwork and notes in a chronological file. If you have to fight your insurance company at some point, you want to have detailed notes of everything that has happened and when.
