I'm pretty sure your GAF plays a role in determining disability. 39 is pretty low!

Thanks Pup. It's prett bad when your used to having high scores all your life and now having low scores. It sucks but can't let people down who have faith in seeing you hang in there. Thanks again
From what I understand, your GAF score is considered when they make a decision. Anything 50 or under shows your condition is on the severe side. Mine has ranged from 30-50 over the past 2 years.

The lower the score, the more severe the disability impairment. Like Pup said, 39 is pretty low. This should help your disability claim. I remember reading this somewhere in my approval letter. I will find, re-read, and report back.
I just re-read my approval letter MonsterPete. The SS CE (licensed clinical psychologist) gave me a GAF of 40. The ALJ noted this in my approval letter.

Just on the lighter side I wonder if they could do that GAF score before during and after this whole process with ssa. I keep thinking one of those commerical will come on and say something like" have you filed for ssi/ssdi and suffered emotional abuse then call now for a class action lawsuit." LOL I really teasing you guys. LOL
