Re: Time line

I had put my timeline in my signature, 1-coz I couldn't remember it exactly; 2 I didn't want to pull my file out when I was asked.. so here it is:

Left work 8/09

Orig filed 3/10 (foolishly waited before I filed-thought I had to wait 6months)

1st denial & 1st appeal 7/10-hired atty same day

2nd denial 12/10 &2nd appeal/req hearing 12/10

VSU (visual screening unit) picked case 5/11 & VSU passed 6/11 *(b'coz atty didn't updt my medical records with SSA since 12/10, this after he had me running around getting RFCs filled out like an idiot, then he sits on them & everything else)

-About July 2011 got my US Sen involved (which is how I found out that atty hadn't sent SSA my updt'd records when my case was pulled by the VSU) Oh, yeah, I also discover atty is too busy with foreclosures these days. *sigh* A new facet to his firm since I hired him.

ALJ hearing sched for Feb 14th-1 month away. tic-toc-tic-toc

Note in the letter from the ALJ they named my judge. I checked his record out.. His approval rate is only 40%.

So I'm a month away literally. Talk about anxiety! I really need to get drunk.. I mean really tie one on. but I have acid reflux and drinking don't agree with me. LOL.. If it wasn't for my bad luck, I'd have no luck at all.

Re: Time line

Hello,

Hopefully my info will be useful.

Last worked - Feb 2012

Filed for Social Security disability -July 2012

Received pain questionnaire from state and returned - late August 2012

First payment made via direct deposit - Sept. 26, 2012

Award letter received - October 2, 2012

Review date of 5 to 7 years, as improvement is not likely. I just turned 56, in case you're wondering.

I feel unbelievably fortunate, with such a quick approval, knowing that so many others waited years and are still waiting. I have a number of specialists I see on a regular basis, they have a lot of documentation including X-rays and MRIs, and I've had 2 major surgeries and 4 hospitalizations this year. if you are still waiting, please keep the faith. If at all possible, continue to see your doctors on a regular basis. Best of luck to everyone.

I'm so happy you got such a quick approval! You must have had a very, very strong case!! With 4 hospitalizations this year it sounds like your disability is definitely severe!!
