So, what is the waiting time span for the ALJ.. from the day I there to what, 1 year?
Seems like I've read there a person waited nearly a year... Hopefully that was only a nightmare I was having. LOL

All depends in what state you live in states like Michigan , Ohio or for the most part all of the great lake states it is longer. Remember the econmy is worse there because they are manufacturing states like the auto and rv, and steel that's why we are known as the rust belt. So more older workers were let go so now they are applying for ssdi. Allot of baby boomers up there. Because back in the day they had the high paying union jobs with no collage degree needed.

hmmm.. 60 days? Really? Shoot, thats not bad at all. Seems like I've heard others say they've been waiting months to hear from the ALJ - cos it has to all be written out etc.. but until its written no one knows what the judge is going to do. But I think I read once in here one person said it was granted as they sat there/during their hearing.
It sure would be sweet if I knew something.
I'm still 'relaxed' if thats even possible. Well, let me say I am MORE relaxed than usual, since I know there ain't a gosh darn thing I can personally do now.
Right?
Right!
Hugs all.
Sorry I didn't get back before. for some reason I couldn't get to 'page 3' of this thread until just now. go figure
Shoot, even at 90 days isn't so bad...
I think I can keep my fingers crossed that long.
Hugs

Hi Jacki
I received a fully favorable decision within 3 or 4 weeks after my ALJ hearing. My attorney called me first, and within a week got the official letter in the mail
After that........I got my back-pay ........then the award letter.......then my 1st SSDI check.....and finally Medicare.Everything went quite smooth after being approved
I would say everything took a TOTAL of 4 months from the ALJ date

When I was writing the signatures, there is only so much room to do it.
so I was putting month and year: 2/12 - Feb 2012.
But the actual hearing is tomorrow 2/14/12- My Valentines Day present! (I did a dry run yesterday and drove to where it is going to be held. I was pretty certain I knew but I didn't want to be driving aimlessly when nervous as heck - as I know as it gets closer I will be losing my mind...
Lets hope it is a nice Valentines Day present
Thank you,
Hugs

Thanks vann, I hope its the best one ever.
I thought I would be a basket case this morning.. but nope,
not yet. Probably will begin tonight.
I'll likely not sleep tonight.. or I"ll got to bed really really early and get up at 4am like I used to when I was a working person. (Anxiety issues... don't want to be late, make sure I knew exactly where I was going, reason for the dry run to the hearing office yesterday which relieved part of that. My next issue will be I will over sleep..
Truly you can see I"m a case these days. Even I gotta laugh at that.
Jacki, get some good sleep first! Then, GOOD LUCK tomorrow!!! I know you'll do great. Then you can relax because the hard part is over. It will be out of your hands then. With our stats on here lately, you have a good chance! Come back and report how it went! Fingers and toes crossed for ya!
