Anyway, I digress... I had one convo w/my atty this morning.. over the brief and when I hung up and just made up my mind that is really is out of my hands - out of my control -(wondering if any of it was ever in my control to begin with) Its another crappy rainy day. I took a deep breathe and said screw it. I"m not going to give myself an ulcer. Tuesday isn't going to be the end, as we know -- this judge could take months to tell me how much he like or hates the case. My atty will call me again on Monday to go over things (anticipation of the judges questions) and how I should answer.. or I think that is what he said..

Anyway... a friend is coming to take me for coffee.. and I'm going to get my mind off of this stuff.

HUGS to everyone - you've been so nice to me. Thanks
Good that's all you can do like you said the wold is not going to end. Just try to relax. If you have a strong case and a good attorney than you have nothing to worry about. I wish you all the best. What part of Florida do you live, it's not raining in Clearwater .

Well, funny you should say that. My atty of course told me at the beginning I had a good case which is why he took it. Then about 2 weeks ago, he popped off about this one doctor that WE had already decided was not needed, all of a sudden was dire to see. $1000 cash for med eval. So I went and atty all happy again, (and he hasn't even received the evaluation yet, that doc just got all the records yesterday) via me or via FAX etc. But atty said yesterday when we were talking for me to calm down - (I told him I knew this judge has a 31% approval rate) he said I have a good case blah blah blah.

So we finished up some small ends today; I'll talk to him Monday, Tuesday is the hearing and I have NO IDEA how long it can take for the judge to render his decision. I guess he could do it immediately or could take a year or 2..
I'm just done worrying about this mess. Its made me absolutely crazy for the past 12 months - its all I think about. so today I just decided to let it go. I've had enough of the worrying.

Hahahaha.. I say that now.. you know of course that come Tuesday I will be sick with worry about WHEN I will hear the verdict and WHAT the verdict will be. --------------------Just be forewarned.. I just know I'm gonna be a lunatic until that judge does what is only right by me.

Right?
Right!

Hugs to all.

I know that it is impossible to stay calm when you are so close to the finish line I wish a favorable outcome. I was lucky to get a Otr I was expecting a long wait to see the alj. And when I recived my Otr in the mail I called my fiancé up at work and told her I was approved she said approved for what I said ssdi she said I was messing with her. And when I said for reel she screamed into the phone my ear still is ringing.

So, what is the waiting time span for the ALJ.. from the day I there to what, 1 year?
Seems like I've read there a person waited nearly a year... Hopefully that was only a nightmare I was having. LOL

All depends in what state you live in states like Michigan , Ohio or for the most part all of the great lake states it is longer. Remember the econmy is worse there because they are manufacturing states like the auto and rv, and steel that's why we are known as the rust belt. So more older workers were let go so now they are applying for ssdi. Allot of baby boomers up there. Because back in the day they had the high paying union jobs with no collage degree needed.

For the most part TODAY I am relatively calm.. But if I know me, I won't be for long..

Does anyone know the time span from the time one goes before the judge till he renders his decisions??

He can take up to 60 days just like you have 60 to appeal a decision. I hope he tells you the day of the hearing, just to put your mind to rest.

For me, it was 6 weeks to receive my decision. But I think it can take a few months depending on your judge.

Glad you are calm today, and I wish you good luck at your hearing

Re: Follow up on your doctors notes - my 2 cents

hmmm.. 60 days? Really? Shoot, thats not bad at all. Seems like I've heard others say they've been waiting months to hear from the ALJ - cos it has to all be written out etc.. but until its written no one knows what the judge is going to do. But I think I read once in here one person said it was granted as they sat there/during their hearing.

It sure would be sweet if I knew something.
I'm still 'relaxed' if thats even possible. Well, let me say I am MORE relaxed than usual, since I know there ain't a gosh darn thing I can personally do now.

Right?
Right!

Hugs all.

Sorry I didn't get back before. for some reason I couldn't get to 'page 3' of this thread until just now. go figure

In my case, it was three months before I received the decision letter from the judge.

Hiya Gayle --

Shoot, even at 90 days isn't so bad...
I think I can keep my fingers crossed that long.
