Post Disability Hearing Advice

Hello all,

I joined this site because I think it should help awnser some questions I have about my disability hearing I had about two weeks ago. During the hearing when the vocational expert testified to the judge that I could not return to work and there were no jobs available in the economy that could accomadate someone with my limitaions. My attorney told me after the hearing that everything went well. But I am so nervous. I suffer from Bi Polar1, GAD, Depression, and PTSD. I have been having massive anxiety about the hearing and wether or not I will be awarded my benefits ever since the hearing has ended. Any advice?

Re: Post Disability Hearing Advice

I would think you would get a favorable decision based upon your VE's testimony. It's tough not to feel anxious with Depression and GAD when you are playing the waiting game. I had my hearing a week ago and was lucky enough to get a fully favorable bench decision but my nerves won't calm down until I actually get the results in writing. So just hang in there and we will pray for your success.

Re: Post Disability Hearing Advice

thank for your reply everything i have read says that the reason an ALJ chooses to request the testimony of a VE is because he expects your case to reach the final level of the social security 5 step disability evaluation process ''is their any work you can do given your limitations in the national economy or are their jobs that exist for someone with your limitations. I would hope that they value the opinion of the VE when making the final decision. Everything I have read says that I should be found disababled after this.
