| Re: question on my ssi backpay
The most you can get is the amount of your SSDI. For example, if you are getting $1000 a month for SSDI, then the MOST you will get for each month in backpay is $1000 a month. You may get $678 from SSI, and then $322 from
SSDI, together getting $1000 a month, but you won't get full amounts from both. That might be why you are confused that some of us got both for backpay. We did, primarily to cover the 5 month waiting period (for SSI). But then from months 6 and on you still get SSI but your SSDI will be reduced so you aren't collecting more than your 1000 from both sources. Hope my explanation makes sense.
