I was approved for SSDI and SSI, but I received a note that in order to get the benefits, I had to have a representative payee. I guess because of my condition. I was having some serious medical treatments that impaired my memory at times. So one of my family members was approved otherwise they would assign me one. Has anyone else had to do this to get SSDI and SSI? What exactly is a representative payee supposed to do anyway? Manage the money?
