| onset date vs entitlement date
I was finally approved for SSDI with a fully favorable decision. My onset date was 2006 but entitlement date was 2008. My entitlement date was based on this particular application filled in 2009 in which I did file an appeal. I did however first apply for social security in 2007 and was denied. I did not file an appeal because I was very sick. Because of my condition it was virtually impossible for me to do anything at this time. This is right when I got sick.
In the judges decision he did say there was no reason to open up the previous claim in 2007. WHY???? I mean, he did give the onset date of 2006. This is so upsetting because I've lost money. Im not able to be reimbursed for my medical. Its just not right. My claims rep at the local social security office said that he'd help me get all the backpay Im entitled to and had me come in, fill out paperwork and then he sent to the payment center for a decision. How likely is it for me to get the entitlement date of 2006????
