| Re: how much money can an RN with an associates degree earn?
Earnings in a hospital vary according to the area of the country you are in.
Around here it is around 20.00 per hour for an RN to start in the hospital and they really don't give much more than
50 cents to 1.00 more per hour for the BSN. If you work the night shift around here you get more.
The pay scale increases with experience, can get up to 30.00 per hour after 5 years full time.
Offices and schools pay much less. I was paid about 10 per hour in an office, 11 as a school nurse.
RN is RN whether associate degree, diploma or BSN in those places.
To be a nursing instructor you need the BSN and they want masters in nursing.
For public health they want a BSN.
Many hospitals will help you obtain your BSN if you have your associate degree as long as you work for them for a while.
