Question New to the site and Medical Assisting

Hello Everyone,

I'm new to the site and I am a medical assistant student. I hear that you can get hepatitis working in the medical field. How would one avoid getting hepatitis if you are in that working environment?

Re: New to the site and Medical Assisting

Do you mean to say that you are not vaccinated????
Well, I must say, I'm shocked. Here in the UK, people who work in the relevant fields will get free hep A, B and C vaccinations. Anybody else can still get them, but will have to pay. Speak to your employer/director of studies and see what he or she recommends.

Re: New to the site and Medical Assisting

Currently I am a student and I am going through the process of getting the series of shots, the school make it mandatory that you get the series and a tb skin test. However, if you get the flu shot, you can still get the flu. So my question is to the board, "How can you prevent getting the virus?"
