Looking to become a personal trainer

I have been working with a personal trainer for 3 years and it has helped me immensely. I have a healthier lifestyle that has actually stuck! I have a history degree but am looking to become a personal trainer myself so that I can help people become stronger and healthier. I need help locating certification programs that are legitimate. What good programs are available?

Re: Looking to become a personal trainer

If you're interested in taking courses to become a personal trainer, the following two reputable organizations are supposed to be reputable: American College of Sports Medicine and the American Council on Exercise.

Please avoid those private overly priced For-profit schools and instead consider the more affordable community college or state/public university (or county vo-tech school) as long as the program is accredited within the industry.
