Hi, Ding is correct. You first have to watch the junky food. Hard, I know. Try one step at a time. Try eliminating one food the first week. Drop something else the next week. But add changes slowly. Trying to do it fast or the easy way never works. Having smaller meals, more often, helps. (Small Breakfast, Mid morning snack, Lunch, Afternoon snack, Dinner, night time snack.) Just make sure the foods you choose are nutritious. Soda/tonics, are particularly loaded with sugars, which convert to fat in your system. Limit breads, potatoes, pasta ("white foods") which are starchy, and convert to fat in your system. They're ok to eat, just watch the amount.
At 13 you probably have a really high appetite, and are about to hit a growth spurt, so don't starve yourself. Don't crash diet. The key to optimal weight is healthy eating. Once you adopt a heathly diet, with good food choices, you stop craving junk foods. You will feel better, have more energy and grow into your bodys' optimal weight.
Remember it isn't about speed in losing, because you already know that makes you feel awful. It all about eating healthy and feeling good. And remember to drink plenty of water. (That's hard for me too, but I do feel more awake when I drink more water.)
Congratulations on wanting to take care of yourself at such a young age. You can avoid a lot of health problems later in life, if you make changes now. But don't obsess about your weight. Enjoy yourself.
