being healthy

I am eating too many chips, cookies, soda, and other high-fat and high-sugar snacks like that. I eat them just about every day. If you can, can someone show me a sample healthy menu for a day? I am fifteen years old.

Re: being healthy

How about just substituting raw vegies, fruit, raisins, or nuts for a snack and keep the junk food for a once in a while treat?

Re: being healthy

if you eat raw nuts, that arent roasted or covered in salt, they will be good for you. The fat that nuts have is mostly monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, which are very good for you. I think they even improve your skin. Making sure you get 3 square meals a day, as well as a 2-3 snacks. Snacks can be fruits and veggies, nuts, maybe some peanut butter on graham crackers. Make sure you eat lean protein. Don't over do it on protein, but dont just eat carbs either. If you only eat carbs you'll always feel hungry, but protein-only diets are horrible for your health. It's hard to find a nice balance. Have you considered visiting a nutritionist?

Re: being healthy

[ REMOVED [ Do what's right for you. Eat when you're hungry. Explore this a bit and you'll figure something out. But the big dinner thing is awful and puts on weight because you're eating a big meal shortly before sleep and just hanging around.

Yes, you're eating too much junk. You should never eat chips and cookies. Pop has so much sugar in it. I guarentee you like it because of the sugar addiction. After being off the stuff for half a year, I tried to drink some and I felt sick. Once all the crap is out of your system and you're a healthier person, you're more aware of what's good and what's bad for you.

Veg*ns just can't drink milk, can't eat meat, and many animal products after being off it. And it makes us sick to our stomach if we try it. Sometimes the aroma alone can do the trick. Of course the thought just grosses us out.

And so I recommend flushing out your body. No more sugar. Drink only water. I'm not sure what your other eating habits are like, but if you want the best health you need to start eating properly. Fruits and veggies should be almost the entire human diet. Nuts are cool and all, but only a few. They're fatty and contain too much protein. It's something the body needs very little of after adolesence, and during those young years you get all the protein you need from human milk. Thank your mother for that. You get it all from vegs and fruit.

If you care about your own health you need to stop eating what was never intended for our consumption. Start with the sugar. I'd like to hear what you else you normally eat, when you eat, maybe even weight and height if it's relevant to your goals (if the junk put on a few extra pounds). I may be able to specifically target you and help you find the right diet.
