Hydrogen Peroxide help.

Yesterday I put hydrogen peroxide in my ear to clean up the wax, but then I went outside(i live in canada, it was cold) and it felt as if the hydrogen peroxide was freezing up in my ear. Can this cause any sort of problem with my hearing?

Re: Hydrogen Peroxide help.

RSteg,

It sounds like maybe you have some sort of wax buildup that allows for the peroxide to pool behind it rather than to drain out. I recommend another treatment today and if you go out into the Frigid North Country, to put a wad of cotten in til the wax is all resolved.

Re: Hydrogen Peroxide help.

Usually I place a couple of drops into my ear and let it rest in there for 2 minutes. Then i turn over and allow the hydrogen peroxide to drain out of my ear for 5 minutes. Do you believe 5 minutes is a sufficient enough time for the hydrogen to drain out? I heard that it dissolves very quickly, if this is true, I can't see how I still had some trapped. Can anyone confirm on how quickly it dissolves and drains out of your ear after turning your ear over?

^This site says after using hydrogen peroxide you should flush your ears with rubbing alcohol to dry out your ear canals (which makes sense since rubbing alcohol is sometimes used on swimmer's ear).
