Question Does this sound like PET?

About 10 days ago my left eustachian tube seemed blocked up. I had some mild nasal congestion, which I think caused the blockage. It got worse over the week and nearly unbearable. Two days ago, my doctor prescribed a steroid nasal spray, which seems to have opened it up. He said my sinuses were all swollen and inflammed. Now, my left ear seems to be unblocked most of the time and "pops" easily when I apply pressure.

Starting 7 days ago, I noticed that I can hear or feel a vibrating sound when I talk or hum. It seems to be mostly on the low notes, or the "mmm"s. It only happened for a couple of minutes 7 days ago, but it happening more and more frequently each day. It is really annoying! Today it started when I got up at 5am and is still going on 7 hours later. My left ear feels muffled like I've got cotton in it, but the tube is no longer blocked. It does get better when I lie down on my left side, but no change if I lie on my right side or if I put my head down between my knees. I looked on the internet and the only occurance I found of hearing your own voice vibrating was related to PET.

My question is, for those of you with PET experience, does this sound like PET? I am 5 months pregnant, which I read can be a predisposing factor. When it was blocked, I tried over and over for days to get it to unblock by applying pressure. Could I have damaged or irritated the eardrum by doing this? Do you think it'll heal and settle down after some time? Any opinions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

hi,
this is what i have plus moving eardrums, tinnitus, and a snapping sound that comes from the roof of my mouth or behind my nose, it has progressed to this, i felt fluid in my ears in the fall and i was dizzy and motionsick, i get lightheaded and imbalance some also, i have it in both ears when people talk to me my ear drums jump or the sound thuds in both. i am currently trying to get this sorted out at johns hopkins. find the best neurotoligist around and go to them, most ents are not of any use! lib
