Could use some advice - Hearing Disorders Message Board

I don't know if my problem is a hearing problem or brain, you can decide for yourself when I'm through explaining.
My symptoms:

When people talk, my mind is slow to comprehend what they're saying. Many times I don't hear what they're saying and it has to be repeated to me. My reactions are slow, it's like I don't think quick enough, like when I'm being asked a question.
I'm forgetful, have nausea, dizziness, equilibrium is off at times
Mind is distant can't focus or concentrate, not aware of surroundings at times
like my mind and body are in 2 different places
Alot of times people will have to yell at me to get me to hear them to snap me out of this cloud I'm in......its like I hear them talking but its like they're far away and I can't put they're words together to understand.
If you have any clue as to what is going on with me, let me know. This has been going on for years, had a brain mri and eeg showed nothing.
I've never touched drugs or drank liquor, so that is not the problem

May I strongly encourage you to post on the epilepsy health board. Some of what you mention is more likely to be linked to that.

Sunshine, What you are describing are alot of my symptoms--inner ear disorder. For 2 years,I have stayed in that "fog"--kind of like you are on the sidelines watching, but knowing you should be in the game. I have been extremely dizzy and completely off balance. I have had every test known to man and have found that my eustachian tube doesn't function properly and that my balance-through testing is all over the place. I just finnished vestibular therapy and are doing the exercises at home---this has helped me more than anything. Go to a ENT dr and ask about VRT therapy--what do you have to lose?!
