eardrum ruptured, now a blood clot

This all happened so fast i'm not sure what to think. Last Friday i started getting a pain in my right ear. I assumed it was a ear infection. No problem went to the Hospital for drops and such. About two hours from the onset of the pain my eardrum ruptures causing excrutiating pain and bleeding.

As of today i still can't hear a thing from my ear and I still have the one sided headache. My right side of my head feels very full and very weak. I went for a follow-up today and they discovered that i have a hematoma behind my eardrum.

What does all this mean? I'm being refered to a specialist ASAP.
Can a infection come on so quickly and leave a hematoma behind? I haven't been sick nor did i have a fever.

Please answer if you have any ideas.
