Hi all~~
I just dont know what to make of this,,,i will TRY to keep it short. I really need someone to tell me what MAY be wrong with me?

For the past 4-6 yrs I have had dizzy spells/vertigo/nausea/ear fullness/ringing/hissing. The spells never last too long maybe 5 minutes. I can get 1-10 per day. it can happen anytime, even laying in bed. there have been 6 months where i am fine & then BAM out of the blue it happens again.
~~I have had MRI's..Cat scans. hearing tests,,they say one ear is "within normal range",,,whatever that means

There is only one ENT dr where i live & he pretty much told me I have "Anxiety" I just cant accept that anxiety can make me THIS sick,,i litteraly want to vomit when im dizzy. I have tried the eply manuver from diagrams on the internet,,but it hasnt helped.

My family dr is away for 3 wks, Do i just keep taking gravol & walking around like a zombie?

Im not sure what kind of hearing test it was,,but they filled my ear with water,,I looked at pics on the wall, & had to answer alot of questions~

The hissing/ringing seems to happen in both ears. Is it normal to be dizzy if this is tinnitus?
My original ent thought it MAY be menieres,, & then another dr. said NO,,i would have to be dizzy for at least 20 minutes or more & be vomiting IF it were Menieres~

Now you see why im fed up...lol
Can you recomend a good menieres web site?

It is so frustrating when the medical field can't give you the answers you need!

Sounds to me like you had a vestibular evalaution (VNG or ENG, dpending on whether infrared goggles or electrodes were used for recording). I agree that if your hearing is asymmetric, you should also have that looked into, either with an ABR or an MRI, unless the loss is conductive.... Hard to advise without knowing your case details!

The Epley maneuver is designed for a certain dizziness problem called BPPV, which you probably do not have if your symptoms hit you while lying still. Certain movements typically provoke a burst of intense dizziness with BPPV.

I am skeptical about the anxiety explanation, as well. That could explain some feelings of lightheadedness, but sounds like your symptoms are worse than that....

If you do have a one-sided hearing loss that is sensorineural (inner ear rather than middle ear loss) that raises my suspicion for Meniere's. There are many different variants of Meniere's--no one fits the "cookie-cutter mold" of 20 min of dizziness every day. Also, if you have that loss, the question is WHY? (and are there any underlying problems that may have caused it?)

One of my favorite vestibular sites is run by VEDA. Look up VEDA vestibular and that should give you good search results. (Apparently we are not supposed to post websites here, I just discovered....)

Thank you for the suggestion~ I will check it out. Ive been trying to figure out if something may have "triggered" the hearing problem,,it happened about 6 months after I had LASIK eye surgery..hmmm,,,,coincidence? I dunno?

I also try to "set off" a dizzy spell by putting myself in "weird" positions...it has never worked.
We have a REAL dr. shortage where i live, so i dont know what I'll do now. I think maybe get another hearing test? Yes, i think it was called an ENG. It took about 2 hrs to complete,,,they were very thourough~
