ant depressant tinnitus link? - Hearing Disorders Message Board

just wanted to ask members what is the link between depression and tinnitus. ive got both and am not on medication but some members seem to be taking anti depressants for there tinnitus.i start councelling in 3 weeks and hope to get by with out meds.my tinnitus is a high pitched teeeeeeee sound all the time and i only dont notice it when im out of the house.also at night i get pulsing in my head(ears).any info wuold be much appriciated.

What came first the depression or the tinnitus? If like me you are a long time sufferer of depression, meds can really help. They help me. I also have pulsatile tinnitus for 5 years now. I was put on an anti-depression capsule and an anti-anxiety tablet. My depression disappeared and my p.t. was helped considerably. 80 - 90% of the time, I am noise free from my p.t..
