| Ear Infections/Significant Hearing Loss
I just got home from an appointment with the ENT. They ruled out osteolscolrosis. He stated that due to the hereditary hearing loss in my family, and the significant loss in my hearing, along with the infections I get per year- 5 to 6 that I am not canidate for surgery. The best I can hope for now is just ear tubes. I am to go back to him when I get my next ear infection so he can determine where the infections are coming from (inner, outer, interior, exterior, etc. part of the ear). It is really upsetting news because it means my hearing is only going to deteriorate and get worse, and that I will have to continue to pay for more hearing aides the older I get.
Has this ever happened to anyone else? Has anyone else required tubes in their ears due to infections?
