| Oticon Synchro with otosclerosis?
I am doind a 60 day trail, now extended slightly for oticon synchro. I have otosclerosis with classic poor low frequency hearing and normal high frequency. I have failed stepedectomy in right ear which ended in nerve damage to inner ear. I am hearing much better with these than with my 5 year old Danavox Danalogic, but get an annoying buzzing sound (a bit like something small vibrating)in the left ear with certain low frequency sounds e.g. when in the car or sometimes when speaking. I have had well over 10 visits to have the programme tweaked and also had the aid sent away to see if it was OK, it was cleaned and serviced, still get the buzz. I am a bit reluctant to fork out AUD$6000 for the pair for something which is a little bit disappointing in it's performance. The audiologist seems to always have problems with the programming software, but that might just be her incompetence.
Anyone else got experience of Oticon Synchro, or problems with strange buzzing?
Next week is decision time with buying the aids, and I am not really convinced.
