I am now entering my sixth month of suffering from eustachian tube dysfunction of my left ear. It was caused by high pressure trauma to my ear. On the least intolerable days, my ear feels constantly blocked to varying degrees. Often I feel this unbearable twitching and thumping. Other times, when I swallow, there is snapping and crackling. Earlier on (It still feels like it can happen again) there were unbearable episodes where my ear drum would violently pop back and forth from either swallowing or doing nothing. This last symptom almost caused me to take my life. Mercifully, the popping hasn't happened for three weeks. The last time it happened, it was less severe. The only hope I have for getting my life back is that this is slowly going away. Anyone else who has suffered the hell I am going through? I have 30 mg codeine and 0.5 mg clonazepam pills in case the symptoms are really bad. (It took a lot of persuasion from my family to get my doctor to prescribe them). Are there other medications that make these never ending symptoms bearable? I'm willing to try anything to survive this.
