 scratched ear and now cannot hear :(
I have a persistent itch in one of my ears that was diagnosed as ezcema by dermatologist. I usually keep it under control by applying a little medicinal salve at night. The other night I woke up and found myself itching my ear like crazy and since then I cannot hear so well out of that ear. Twice though the hearing has come back and then goes again, currently its back. I thought perhaps I might have either damaged my ear drum (was itching just inside the ear not deep)or pushed wax down? Also thinking that my nightly used of a medicinal beeswax salve could eventually plug up ear even tho I don't put it down into the ear? I think I did a similar thing a year ago when I also woke up itching and was left with ringing in my ear for a couple of days but it went away. The dermatologist could only offer me steroid creams and I don't care to use those altho did apply a little bit the last two nights to stem the itching and prevent further scratching. Thanks for any help
