I'm 32 years old. I have a ringing in my left ear. I decided to go have it checked out. My
audiogram results showed both ears are good from 250Hz to 2000Hz (ie 10-20HL dB) then from 2k to 4k both drop down to 65 HL dB....that explains why I have trouble hearing my wife

my hearing climbs back up to aprox. 45 HL dB at the 8000Hz end of the graph.
My question is, will my hearing get worse if I don't get a hearing aid immediately like my audiometrist suggests? Is he trying to push me into buying aids I just can't afford right now. I'm looking forward to getting aids and having my hearing back, but two years or so would be a more practical time frame for my budget.
He reckons its a case of if you don't stimulate whats left now it will get worse quickly. Day to day I get by fine how it is at the moment.
Thanks,
