I had my surgery about 5 weeks ago, my operated side of my tounge was numb until recently the taste bud part. I now have a metalic taste in my mouth, I am hoping this will all be gone by Xmas, apparently it can take a while for the nerve to recover. I think any kind of change is a good one even if coffee tastes like iron railings!!

BEst of luck on your recovery, I called my dr a couple of times worrying and he said guess what......Patience
