hi I am 32 years old..I dunno when exacty my conductive hearing loss started!!!

I had stapedectomy but the no help..my hearing went worst than before!!!

Of late i am sick of everythign...I just want to preserve the hearing I have now!!!but my specialist doesn't seem understanding what i am talking about.

She says there is nothing anyone can do to prevent / stop conductive hearing loss..

I saw some sodium fluride therapy discussed around here!! can I use that ? what sort of side effects does it have? I am very frustrated!!!!!!There should be some hearing left to use hearing aids 1..isn't it ?????!!!! any way to stop the disease progressing!!!!! I am not able to hear my baby's lisping!!! it got worst after my delivery!!!!I wish I was dead during delivery!!!It's very dipressing!!!!!

I am sorry you hearing has got worse, is it loss in one ear or both?
I have otosclerosis too and I don;t remember when I lost it either, also I have had 2 children in the last 4 years and pregnancy makes the condition worse too. I had a stapedectomy 5 weeks ago.

Are you seeing a neuro-otologist? I think that is the corect designation for a dr who deals with ear issues.

there are 2 parts to hearing with your ear, conductive and sensoneurial maybe some thing is up with the sensoneureal part? You should maybe get a second opinion.

This must be very stressful for you I am sorry you have to go through this, congratulations on your baby

I am sorry to about your hearing loss. I lost my hearing in my right ear suddenly after a head injury and then my left ear hearing started to slowly go. I have only about 50% of my balance nerves left. I now have to wear hearing aids. I know that it can be very depressing as I felt that way when I was at my sickest. I got hearing aids (Oticon Deltas) and after I got used to the, I absolutely loved them. I feel more sociable and less isolated than I was before and nobody even notices them. What I realized is that hearing loss will only get you down if you see it as a major obsticle. If you accept it and realize that you can still function with the hearing you have left and accept that, then it will become easier for you.
