Anyone wears sound amplifier? - Hearing Disorders Message Board

I have one of those that look like a Bluetooth wireless cellphone device. I wear it only once in a blue moon when it is extremely important to hear (meetings in my kids school). Thankfully, I stay at home (SAHM), otherwise I'd be forced to wear it to meetings at work.

So far I like it. I like that it's re-chargeable (no need of batteries), though not many women wear Bluetooth in general. Anyone has pro or cons?

Have you had your hearing tested to find out exactly what your hearing problem is. Some problems can be helped with good hearing aids. Others cannot be helped regardless of what they try.

My husband is now wearing the Oticon hearing aids that are programmed for his particular hearing loss. They are great, but, does not replace normal good hearing. Best to see a medical doctor specializing in hearing loss than to go to a hearing aid place that primarily sell hearing aids and waste your money.

Wearing hearing aids are very common these days, no need to feel self conscious. Hearing loss can happen at any age.

Hearing aids cost $2000-5000, a sound amplifier $40. I was just asking if anyone used them.
