Suddenly Deaf in one ear! Underinsured, Scared

Hello,

About a week ago, I sneezed while cleaning my left ear, pushing the Q-tip just a bit farther in than it should have gone. Two days ago, I got an earache in that ear. This morning, I woke up with ~90% hearing loss in the left ear. I want to see a doctor, but my "CORE" benefits include a $3,000 deductible and I have $400 in the bank. I have a friend looking for free/nearly free clinics, but none can see me before the end of October or after normal work hours.

I can't just leave work because it's my first day at a temporary position (my first income in 4 MONTHS!), and I'm filling in for someone will be gone for a month. I don't know what to do. I can't lose this job.

Please... advice, information, direction... something.

UPDATE:

I just noticed that exhaling heavily and completely through my nose increases my hearing ability from ~10%-~25%. I did this a few times (pushing harder each time) and then I heard a large POP! My hearing was then at about 60%. After about 15 seconds, it slid back down to 10%.

Re: Suddenly Deaf in one ear! Underinsured, Scared

Update: I was recently told by a cross-country friend that CVS and Walgreens have clinics in them that charge ~$70 for a visit. They're staffed by nurse practitioners and physician assistants. I'm going to try this out today after work since I woke up with no change to my hearing (still 10%). There was also a lot of fluid in the outer ear canal (enough to require 3 q-tips to swab up) this morning. I don't know what that means.

Still angry, scared, broke, and hopeless.
