Stapedial Muscle Surgery?

I think I have stapedial muscle spasms with low noises triggering "rough" sounds (cars, airplanes, engines), and worse, I think the same thing is happening internally with my pulsatile tinnitus, which seems amplified sometimes into a stuttering or warbling VERY intrusive pulsing which keeps me awake.
Unfortunately, I have read that the stapedius protects our hearing from our own voice ... and I'm a singer. I'm afraid if I have surgery to cut the stapedius I'll hear my own voice in my head louder and possibly cause further hearing loss (I have some hearing loss and "regular") tinnitus. Anybody have any thoughts on any of this? It's so hard to find answers from ENTs, or even specialists.
